Reese John Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal ar not engaged, contempt rumours of a romanticist proposal in Italy.
According to Witherspoon's interpreter, media reports of marriage bells ar "dead traitorously".
The rep said to Us Weekly: "There's non one snow leopard of truth to it."
Witherspoon filed for divorce from actor Ryan Phillippe in 2006. They have two children from their marriage.
